Inputs

One.

Options

•Select the column containing the paths of the files.

•Check compute hash value to add a Hash Value column with a hash value computed for each file. This can be slow to compute.

•Set Algorithm to the hashing algorithm you wish to use. Only available if compute hash value is checked.

Notes

•The selected column should contain absolute paths of files on the local computer (not relative paths or folders).

•File Exists show if the file was found.

•File Folder is the folder containing the file. E.g. /myfolder for /myfolder/myfile.csv.

•File Name is the name of the file. E.g. myfile.csv for /myfolder/myfile.csv.

•File Stem is the stem of the file. E.g. myfile for /myfolder/myfile.csv.

•File Extension is the extension of the file. E.g. csv for /myfolder/myfile.csv.

•Canonical is the standardised path of the file. E.g. /myfolder/myfile.csv for /myfolder/x/../myfile.csv.

•Link To contains the file that a symbolic link or alias points to. It is empty for files that are not symbolic links or aliases.

•Hidden shows whether the file is hidden.

•Size (bytes) show the size of the file in bytes.

•Created shows the ISO datetime that file was created.

•Modified shows the ISO datetime that file was last modified.

•Readable shows if you have permission to read the file.

•Writable shows if you have permission to write to the file.

•Executable shows if you have permission to execute the file.

•Hash Value is the computed hash for the file:

o256 bits (64 hex characters) for SHA3-256

o384 bits (96 hex characters) for SHA3-384

o512 bits (128 hex characters) for SHA3-512

The longer the hash, the less likely any accidental collisions are and the longer it will take to compute.

•You can use Dedupe and the Hash Value column to look for duplicated files.
