This release adds bug fixes and improvements to v1.46.5 on Windows and Mac. The download link is at the bottom of the page.
You can uninstall old releases after you have successfully installed this version.
We recommend that you back-up important transform files before installing any new release.
Please let us know of any problems or issues you encounter with the release.
Windows and Mac
1. Previously there were some issues with propagating changes to column parameters. This could result in columns changes being incorrectly propagated downstream. We have now completely rewritten the core of Easy Data Transform to fix these issues.
Note that you can still get issues if you set up a .transform for an input, and then change the input to one with different columns (extra columns, columns missing or re-ordered columns). You can address this using a Stack transform with a known column configuration. We hope to have better ways to handle this in v2.
2. Easy Data Transform will now try to remember column related settings, if you disconnect and reconnect an item. This change was made possible by the rewrite of column propagation.
3. When you choose Run>Run selected only the currently selected items (and any ancestors that need updating) will be run. Descendants are no longer processed. This change was made possible by the rewrite of column propagation.
4. Fixed a bug where Preferences>General>Opening a .transform with auto run didn’t have the correct behavior for:
- Disable auto run (treated in previous versions as Prompt to disable outputs)
- Prompt to disable outputs (treated in previous versions as Disable outputs)
- Disable outputs (treated in previous versions as Disable auto run)
You may need to change the Preferences>General>Opening a .transform with auto run drop-down list to get the desired behaviour.
5. The Old name column of the Rename Cols table no longer accepts Tab focus, making it faster to Tab through the New name column.
6. The Cross transform now updates it’s results when the relative positions of the inputs are changed.
7. Drawing drop shadows on connections could sometimes cause significant performance issues, when scrolling and panning in large and complex .transform files. So drop shadows are now only drawn on items, not connections.
8. Fixed an issue where the copyright year shown in the About window was wrong for some operating system locales. Thanks to Joker for reporting this.
