You can uninstall old releases after you have successfully installed this version.

Windows and Mac

1. Easy Data Transform now has a portable option.

By default Easy Data Transform stores your preferences in the Windows registry (Windows) or macOS Library/Preferences (Mac). However you can now store your preferences in an easydatatransform.ini file in the same folder as the Easy Data Transform .exe or .app file. This means you can install Easy Data Transform on a device without having admin access. It also allows you to store everything on a portable device, such as a USB memory stick. You can even move your portable device between Windows and Mac computers.

To use Easy Data Transform portably:

It is possible to have Windows and Mac versions of Easy Data Transform on the same device sharing a single easydatatransform.ini file and common input, output and .transform files. Just make sure you install the Windows .exe and Mac .app into the same folder. We also recommend that they are the same version of Easy Data Transform.

If you move your portable device from one computer to another (e.g. Windows to Mac) the path of files may change (e.g. from D:\my_usb_key\my_transform.transform to /Volumes/my_usb_key/my_transform.transform) Easy Data Transform will try to be intelligent about handling these changes of path.

Any relative paths used for .transform files should now be relative to the Easy Data Transform .exe (Windows) or .app (Mac) file.

For more details see Reference>Portability in the help documentation.

If you have problems installing to a USB key on Mac see Mac Install Troubleshooting.

2. Previously file name variables didn’t work well when input files had more than one ‘.’ (dot) character in the name. For example, when setting the name of the output file from the input file during batch processing. This is now fixed. Thanks to @PatchworkFez for reporting it.

3. Fixed an issue that could cause a crash when clicking on a Filter transform after it’s upstream input file was removed.

4. The Sequence transform will now update if you change Dates formats in Preferences and Rows added is set to Missing dates.
