A: We have added many improvements and new features.
Q: Am I entitled to a free upgrade to v2?
A: Only if you purchased a v1 license on or after 30-Aug-2024 (90 days or less before the official v2 release date).
Q: Am I entitled to a discounted upgrade to v2?
A: If you have a valid Easy Data Transform license for v1, you will be able to buy v2 60% cheaper than buying a new license.
Q: Can I upgrade an individual v1 license in someone else’s name to v2?
A: No. Individual licenses are not transferable. If a license is in someone else’s name, then you can’t use that license or upgrade it. Organizational licenses are transferable. Contact us if you aren’t sure which you have.

Q: How do I prove I am entitled to an upgrade?
A: You will be asked to supply your v1 license key during purchase. You can get this license key by either:
Q: If I upgrade now, what additional features will I get in future releases?
A: You will get every update we release to the product you purchased, until we release v3. While we make no promises about future releases, we expect to make further v2 releases with improvements and bug fixes, after the initial v2.0.0 release.
Q: Will v2 install over the top of earlier versions of Easy Data Transform?
A: On Windows, each version will install as a separate application.
On Mac, you may need to rename the .app file to stop it overwriting a previous .app file.
Q: Do I have to uninstall v1 before I install v2?
A: No. You can if you want to. Or you can leave them installed. Given that they use minimal disk space (each version uses about the same disk space as 20 digital photos), we tend to leave them installed.
Q: Is there anything I need to do before installing Easy Data Transform v2?
A: We recommend you back-up any important .transform files (e.g. to cloud storage, memory stick or another hard drive) before installing or uninstalling a new version of Easy Data Transform. Particularly for a major new version.
