Apple recently released macOS 27 ‘Golden Gate’. This breaks the font selection window in Easy Data Transform v2.15.0 and earlier. But this is fixed by this release (see above). We haven’t noticed any other issues with macOS 27.
Note that you will need to download the Rosetta 2 software if you want to run an old Intel-only version of Easy Data Transform on macOS 27 (see below).
Apple started shipping Macs with ARM (M Series Apple Silicon) processors in 2020.
Prior to Easy Data Transform v1.35.1 we only supported Intel binaries on Mac.
From v1.35.1 Easy Data Transform ships as a ‘universal binary’ that supports both Intel and ARM processors.
Apple is withdrawing support for Intel binaries in macOS 28 (planned for 2028). So, Easy Data Transform v1.35.0 and earlier will not run on macOS 28.
If you have an Easy Data Transform v1 license, you will need to install v1.35.1 or later (v1.47.1 is recommended) to keep using it on macOS 28.
If you have an Easy Data Transform v2 licence, you should be fine on macOS 28.
Note that we can’t be sure exactly which version of Easy Data Transform will run on macOS 28 until macOS 28 is available for testing.
Some 70% of the world’s websites are estimated to run the PHP programming language. EasyDataTransform.com uses PHP for a few online functions, such as online key retrieval.
Two serious security flaws were recently found in the PHP. The flaws were leaked before PHP was fixed, causing a major worldwide security panic.
Out of an abundance of caution we took down the EasyDataTransform.com website when the issue became public on 21-Oct-2026. We then put it back up a few hours later, once we had received the PHP security patch. You may have noticed that online update checking and auto key retrieval stopped working. Apologies for any disruption caused.
The ever improving capabilities of AIs means these sorts of incidents might be quite common over the next few years. Buckle up!

Red faces all round at Indian certificate authority eMudra, who were found to be using absurdly weak private keys for some certificates. A private key is typically a number some 116 digits long. But some of the eMudra certificates were found to be using private keys only 1 or 2 digits long, including the number ‘4’! Which means the certificates could be cracked instantly. eMudra have since exited the certificate business. More on this story in The register.
